Optimization of aquafeed formulation has started at IRTA’s facilities

Today, 2nd of March, the first tests to optimize the formulation of aquafeed prototypes have started at IRTA’s facilities in Mas de Bover (Tarragona). The main objective of this task is to design and optimize 3 diets to include brewery by-products (bagasse and yeast) as alternative sources to marine origin ingredients. This task, which is expected to be finished by the last quarter of 2018, also includes the design and use of 3 control and commercial diets to perform the comparative growth studies for each target species.
