LIFE Brewery project’s latest progresses

After the first stakeholders’ meeting in Brussels (14 March), the progress of the project has focused mainly on the preindustrial tests to determine the optimum drying operating conditions for brewery by-products. In parallel with this action, the fish feed formulation methodology has been defined and the first theoretical aquaculture feeds formulations have been performed. Moreover, the design of the valorisation scheme, where all the stages of the value chain are included, has already been started. All these tasks are expected to be finished by the end of 2018.

With regards to communication tasks, in addition to the project’s communications through the website (http://lifebrewery.azti.es) and social networks, a journal article has been published in the ‘Ruta Pesquera’ magazine (May 2018). This magazine is one of the main references for the Spanish fishing sector. Additionally, some contacts with other similar projects have been carried out with the aim of establishing a collaborative network and to increase the individual impact of the project. Finally, next Thursday 24 May, it will be held the first monitoring meeting with the representatives of EASME and NEEMO at the headquarters of AZTI in Derio (Spain). The objective of this meeting is to assess the degree of technical and financial progress of the project.
